Project type

September 2024 - May 2025 (24 Weeks)

For the Project Management and Research Methods module for Masters Computer Game Design, I wrote a paper about different examples of perception of fairness in relation to punishing success and rewarding failure, with an emphasis on exploration of Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment (DDA) in said games.
For this I looked at a number of examples of punishing success, rewarding failure and Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment, including real life, e.g. the Formula 1 Aerodynamic Testing Reset (ATR) system, or video game examples like Crash bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (Naughty Dog, 1997), God Hand (Clover Studio, 2006) and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition (Nintendo, 2017).
